Britain's Naughtiest Pet: Top 10

The votes are in and Britain’s naughtiest pets have been outed. Now, it’s time to find out which pets committed the biggest howlers. You’d be barking mad not to read this list, because these are the most mischievous, funniest and craziest pets this side of the English Channel.

Mishka

Who’s a good girl then? Not Mishka the Husky. Because she destroyed a set of brand-new blinds. Ouch! Her owner, Sam Smith of Wigan, was on hand to witness the destruction and gather this important photographic evidence.

Mango

Talk about using your head! Mango the Hungarian Vizsla tried to escape from her owner Fiona Johnson’s house in Belton. Luckily Fiona was there to open the door (and take a quick pic).

Bosley

This Staffordshire Bull Terrier loves chewing the fat – and the curtains and the carpet and anything else he can get his jaws around. Rumour has it, he’s even gnawed on a broadband cable. Good thing his owner, Rick Haswell from Tyne and Wear, is the forgiving type.

Ruby

It’s hard to find a quality newspaper these days. At least, that’s the view of Ruby the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who expressed her displeasure by chewing the paper to pieces. Her owner Romilly Snowden, of East Yorkshire, took this snap and then tidied up.

Ted

Ted the Labrador/Spaniel puppy is in a whole lot of trouble. Or, should that be a ‘hole’ lot? Because his owner, Georgie Ball of Cornwall, discovered him with his head stuck in the ground. Talk about keeping a low profile.

Milo

Have you ever wondered what’s in a bean bag? Milo the Short-Haired German Pointer did a bit of research and discovered that the answer was beans. Lots of beans. His owner, Lucy Hadaway of York, was obviously thrilled to clean up that lot.

Herbert

Here’s a loo roll that just kept on rolling and rolling – thanks to Herbert the Jack Russel / Lhasa Apso cross. Lauren Cooke, of Chelmsford in Essex, was there to witness the chaos and bring us this evidence.

Jasper

Jasper is an English Cocker Spaniel who just loves to express his creative side. Unfortunately, on this occasion he chose to splash out with a pail of blue paint on a patch of previously pristine carpet. His owner, Richard Martin of Sittingbourne, took the pic and then did his best to clean up.

Winnie

Sandy Hayes of Essex sent in this snap of her beloved Boxer getting stuck into the garden. Talk about getting the dirt on someone (or some pet)! Winnie, the dog in question, was too busy to even smile for the camera.

Ernie

Ernie the Labrador tried to act all casual. But you don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out what he’s been up to. This bin-raiding pooch was caught on camera by his ever-patient owner, Vickie Bailey of Harrogate. Anyone who says that looking after a pet is easy, is clearly just speaking a load of rubbish.

And there you have it: the top ten of our Britain’s Naughtiest Pet competition. We would like to ‘paws’ here to extend a big thank you to everyone who entered – both owners and pets. You had us laughing and shaking our heads in wonder, and we hope that everything has been tidied up to its original, undamaged state.
